Engage Students at Your Next Open Event with the TeachLaw Legal Trail.
Free Open Event Resource at the end of this blog page.

Law open events are a key opportunity to inspire potential students, showcase your law department, and demonstrate what studying law is really like. But we know they can also be hectic, busy, and challenging to manage, especially when you want to give visitors a meaningful experience.
That is why we have created the TeachLaw Legal Trail, a ready to use, interactive classroom activity that brings the law to life in a fun and accessible way.
What is the TeachLaw Legal Trail?
The TeachLaw Legal Trail is a treasure hunt style activity where students move around the classroom answering questions about key areas of the law and legal system. Each question provides a multiple-choice answer, and students collect letters from the correct answers. At the end of the trail, they unscramble the letters to reveal a legal word, making learning hands on, memorable, and enjoyable.
This resource is fully ready to print and use, so there is minimal setup for teachers. Page 1 is the starter station and should be placed near the entrance to start the trail, pages 2-8 are the question stations and should be set up around the room, and page 9 is the answer station, which includes a QR code for students to check their final word. Page 10 is the student answer sheet, which can be printed multiple times for all of your potential law students

Why Use the Legal Trail?
It engages students and parents, it will keep visitors moving, thinking, and talking about the law.
It highlights key legal concepts; each question links to important areas of law and the legal system.
It is flexible use, it is deal for both A Level and BTEC Law open days, or as a quick starter activity for taster sessions and enrichment lessons.
There is minimal preparation, simply print, place around the room, and you are ready to go!
It supports students to explore the law.
How to Use the Legal Trail
Print pages 1-9 for the trail and place them around the classroom.
Print multiple copies of page 10, the student answer sheet.

Once all questions are completed, students unscramble the letters to reveal a secret legal word.
Students check their answer at Page 9 (the Answer Station) using the QR code.
The TeachLaw Legal Trail is more than just a classroom activity, it is a tool to spark curiosity, inspire future law students, and make open events fun and meaningful.
